A Malawian Couple, Edward and Prudence Governor have introduced an online wedding directory called The Vow, where wedding vendors can list their services and products.
According to the couple, The Vow’s main aim is to pool resources and creative ideas to save people a great deal of time and money.
In an interview on Tuesday, the couple who share 50/50 partnership of the website said they decided to come up with the idea after seeing a lot of requests on Facebook for lists of wedding service providers like; photographers, venues, cake makers and many more on a daily basis.
“After seeing this, then the thought came as regards to what if we have a directory listing all this…Of course, there are various Facebook Pages on weddings but they are not organized in such a way that a person can easily find vital information, therefore the key was to present the same in an organized manner thereby easing access and saving time,” Edward and Prudence explained.
They revealed that The Vow is to make the consumer aware of a great number of professional service providers in the Malawi Wedding Industry as this will address people’s frustrations over delayed service delivery and complaints on quality of the same.
According to the two, the Wedding planners/consumers can easily see the product they need and are better able to assess its quality through photos and price comparisons on the website.
Apparently, The Vow introduces one to some remarkable vendors in the wedding industry with great talent and professionalism that is tailored to the Malawian.
The couple hinted that that in as much as The Vow is a wedding centered website, it can be used as a resource for planning events like engagements, bridal showers, conferences and even parties as the suppliers also fit in the categories.
They said, “We are aiming at improving businesses for suppliers in the wedding industry by creating an enabling win-win environment for the supplier and the wedding planner/couple. We believe in quality above all else hence our linking the public to the best that the wedding industry has to offer and more.”
Some of our long term reasons for existence of the wedding directory include revolutionizing and create a competitive Malawi Wedding Industry, to make the art of planning events easier, to save time and money on event planning, to reduce the stress of finding event related resources, to provide tips on wedding planning, to inspire small business owners in the wedding industry to improve their businesses and to create jobs.
The idea of the online directory was hatched by the couple in 2013-2014, but has just been realized this year with users able to access the directory through the link.
