Man Posted Photo on Facebook Mocking His Ex-Girlfriend, Later He Was Murdered

A guy posted a joke and photo to Facebook which sparked a row with his ex-girlfriend, and ultimately ended in his tragic murder.

Carl Gregory, 20, posted an image of a woman leap-frogging over pen*s statues on Facebook, accompanied by a caption reading: ‘How most girls get over ex’s…’.

Gregory had split from his ex-girlfriend Chloe Lemare in August 2015, and it was on October 4 last year that he was killed just hours after posting this photo below.

John Dickson has been convicted of murdering Gregory after the court heard he put him in a chokehold causing him to die from asphyxiation.

Maidstone Crown Court heard that the deceased ex-girlfriend, Lemare had told a friend of hers, Christopher Pollard, that Gregory had called her a ‘slag and a tramp’.

Pollard then went with Dickson to Westwood Cross shopping centre to give Gregory ‘a little bit of fear’, but kicked the victim with steel cap boots before Dickson strangled him.

After the verdicts, Detective Sergeant Ross Gurden of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said:

“This was a tragic death of a popular young man who had his whole life in front of him.

Carl Gregory is sorely missed by his family and friends due to the actions of John Dickson, who went out of his way to confront him. I hope today’s outcome is of comfort to all those who loved Carl.

I hope this case reinforces the message that the use of violence to resolve issues can result in life changing consequences.

Dickson is a young man who will now serve a considerable length of time behind bars as a result of a complete disregard of the consequences of his actions.

Pollard and Dickson denied the murder of Gregory, and Pollard was cleared of both murder and manslaughter while Dickson was found guilty and has been jailed for life, according to Kent Online.

Judge Adele Williams told Dickson:

“You are cold and calculating, showing no emotion whatsoever. In my judgement you are a very dangerous individual.

On all the evidence before me I am sure there came a time during the incident when you formed the intention to kill Carl Gregory”.

Dickson strangled Gregory to death before stamping on his head and leaving him on the ground in a shopping centre car park.
