Unruly behavior of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Youth cadets continue with the latest being in Dedza East Constituency where President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika officially launched the construction of the Bwanje Dam on Wednesday.

The youth cadets ganged up to attack Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for the Constituency Juliana Lunguzi for being critical of the ruling DPP.

The whole issue was stated by DPP Secretary General Greselder Jeffrey wa Jeffrey who criticized Lunguzi and the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of being against the Fertilizer Subsidy Programme, saying the stand taken by Lunguzi is uncalled for.

Jeffrey wa Jeffrey said the DPP under President Mutharika will continue offering farm inputs to farmers in the country despite Lunguzi and other opposition MPs being against it.

The remarks attracted ululations from DPP youth cadets who started chanting anti-Lunguzi’s song with others shouting Achoke! Achoke!

On his part, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika also attacked MCP will remain in opposition up to 2084.

Mutharika said in his three years rule he has managed to construct seven roads across the country while MCP constructed one road in 31 years under Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda.

The remarks attracted tension at the launch with DPP cadets baying for the blood of Lunguzi and that of Chief Kachindamoto.

The two left the venue of the function under police escort.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Lunguzi confirmed of the fracas, saying he was deeply shocked with the conducts of the DPP youth cadets and its Secretary General.
