Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicates that Blantyre City Assembly together with armed police officers have removed and destroyed all containers which were used as shops at mibawa minibus terminal.
Dan Mughogho confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by faceofmalawi reporter.
According to Mughogho, the owners of the shop were not remitting city rates to the council.
But vendors who have been affected by the exercise have accused of the City Council of being unfair to them, saying every year the vendors have been paying over MK60, 000.
The vendors have since converged at City Council in Blantyre.
Effort to talk to BCC Public Relations Officer Anthony Kasunda proved futile.
