DPP govt blocks Zambia opposition leader Saviour Chishimba, Malema from attending Kunkuyu’s convention

After failing to block Moses Kunkuyu of Transformation Alliance (TA) from holding the Party’s conference, the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has blocked Zambia’s opposition United Progressive Party leader Saviour Chishimba and South Africa’s Vocal Politician Julius Malema from attending the conference.

Recently, Kunkuyu told the press that he has invited Chishimba and Malema to attend the function which was previously scheduled to take place at College of Medicine Sports Complex but it was later cancelled.

The development did not go down well with the ruling DPP under President Mutharika who retaliated harshly.

In a letter seen by faceofmalawi reporter, Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Grace Obama Chiumia has ordered Director General of Immigration to stop the two from entering the the country.

“Please take notice that in exrcise of the power conferred on me by section 4(1) (h) of the Immigration Act, I declare the following persons to be prohibited immigrants to Malawi namely; Saviour Chishimba, and Julius Malema.

“You are therefore directed to cause the appropriate notices to be prepared and disseminated to them and relevant officers in order to restrict or refuse their entry to Malawi,” reads in part the order.
