Jeffrey wa Jeffrey in ‘Zachamba’ spree over Blue night donation

Secretary General for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Greselder Jeffrey wa Jeffrey continues to make headlines in the media with her garrulous mouth with the latest being rubbishing calls for the refund of money obtained from city council during the dinner and dance held recently.

According to facts at hand, Mzuzu City Council donated K3.5 million while Blantyre City Assembly donated K5 million to a blue night held at Kamuzu Palace last month.

Sources say the Blantyre City Council sent a cheque worth K2.5 million but the party sent back the cheque saying the money was peanuts, forcing the assembly to write a K5 million cheque.

But the move has attracted condemnation, with the latest being Malawi Law Society demanding the refund of the said money.

MLS through its Chairperson Khumbo Soko has written DPP’s secretary general, Attorney General, Public Affairs Committee (PAC) demanding refund.
In response to the call, Jeffrey wa Jeffery described Soko’s claims as ‘Zachamba’(nonsense).

“Zimenezo ndiye timati zachamba. Iwowo angamutchule amene adawakakamiza kuti apereke ndalama? Zimenezo ndiye zachamba. Tisatayisane nthawi apa. Mwinanso mwayimbira munthu wolakwika. [That is nonsense! Can they name the party official who forced the parastatals and councils to donate to the party? Let us not waste each other’s time,” She said.

Meanwhile analyst has asked Jeffrey wa Jeffrey to be mindful of her language.
