Another Malawi police officer aged 32 has lost his dear life following a road accident.
The now deceased officer has been identified as Sergeant Mark Sulira who until his death was working at Kasitu Police Unit in Dwangwa.
According to reports, Sulira was at the time of the accident riding a motorcycle with a passenger on the pillion seat. He lost control of the motorcycle upon reaching a place called Tukombo and went off road where he hit a parked Van.
Following that, Sulira suffered internal bleeding and he was rushed to Chintheche Rural Hospital where he died upon arrival.
The passenger on the pillion seat sustained minor injuries and he was treated afterwards.
This comes a week after another Malawi police officer died after being hit to death by a speeding minibus.
Police identified the deceased as Constable Steven Singano who died on March 16.
According to an eyewitness, Singano together with his law enforcers mounted a road block at Bunda where they stopped a minibus Bongo Reg 7752, which was being driven by Mr Adson Jafet aged 39 of Mtsamba village TA Chadza Lilongwe.
But the driver instead of stopping the vehicle he hit the officer.
“He was rushed to hospital but due to loss of blood from the wounds that he sustained he was pronounced dead at KCH,” said an eyewitness.
Meanwhile the diver has been arrested.
