Police fires teargas at angry primary school pupils in Mangochi

Police had to use teargas to disperse pupils at St. Augustine 3 Primary School in Mangochi who turned violent in protest against a rise in cases of girls fainting.

There are reports that such incidents have happened before and the children suspect foul play.

The pupils who were armed with stones smashed office windows at the school and damaged other infrastructures.

It took the intervention of the police calm down the situation.

Similar incident happened in Kasungu where pupils from Chankhanga Primary School went on rampage and attacked Municipa Council officers.

The pupils were not happy that the council sold their football ground.
