Stranger Steals One Month Old Baby in Nkhotakota

Police in Nkhotakota have launched an investigation that can lead to the arrest of unidentified woman who pretended to be pregnant and stole a 1 month old baby.

The incident is said to have happened on Thursday in Mgomba village in the area of senior chief Malengachanzi.

Reports say on the night of the said day, the culprit pretended to be heavily pregnant and went to seek accommodation at a certain woman’s house saying she could not manage to get to her house since it was already late.

The owner of the house agreed and later went out to buy some relish for dinner leaving her one month old baby behind.

Upon returning back, she was shocked to have discovered that her baby and the strange woman were nowhere to be seen.

She alerted neighbours and later the matter was reported at Nkhotakota police station.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation to arrest the strange woman.
