At least 32 learners have failed to sit for this year’s Primary School Living Certificate of Education examinations which started Wednesday.
The learners’ names did not appear on the Malawi National Examinations Board’s nominal roll.
The learners from Harmony Private Primary School in Bangwe Township Blantyre claim the school’s director swindled their examination money which amounts to Mk169,000.
The Malawi Police Service (MPS) has since arrested the Director of the school only identified as Alfred Kapito.
Deputy Public Relations Officer Widson Nhlane confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press, saying the suspect will appear in court soon.
Alfred Kapito hails from John village in Traditional Authority Kadewere in Chiradzulu district.
