Soldier Kills Himself after Shooting his Wife Following a Marital Dispute, Leaves Behind Children

A Zambia army soldier has reportedly shot himself after shooting dead his wife who was a police officer following a marital dispute.

According to the Zambian eye, the incident occurred yesterday Thursday, May 18 around 01:00 hours.

Tyson Mwabe is said to have shot his wife only identified as Esther, who was a police officer at Kabwe Central Police Station and fled from his residence afterwards.

He later returned and locked himself in his house prompting the military police men to surround his house for an arrest.

By 06:00 am today, Mwape was still in the house as efforts to have him out were being made by military men.

However, by mid-morning, Mwape allegedly shot himself in the head and died on the spot.

The couple has left behind children who are said to be traumatized, losing a mother and a father at the same time.
