Police at Zalewa roadblock have seized Indian hemp which was being transported by unknown person in Ulemu bus.
According to Sub-Inspector Kasamba of Zalewa Police Unit, the illicit drug was found on Tuesday at around 1300hrs in Ulemu Bus with registration number BS74.
“The bus was coming from the direction of Lilongwe to Blantyre. Upon arrival at Zalewa roadblock, officers searched the bus and found 13 cobs and loose cannabis Sativa packed in plastic bag, said Kasamba who was on duty with a fellow officer identified as Constable Mwale.
The two officers made efforts to find the owner of the cannabis sativa but nobody came out to claim ownership of the stuff.
Therefore, police seized the illicit drug and an investigation is underway to arrest the suspect.
