Police in Dedza are looking for a 27-year-old husband who is currently on the run after he stabbed his wife.
Dedza deputy police publicist Constable Cassim Manda has identified the suspect as Alifoso Esau and the victim as Edilita Hanania who comes from Kaularo village in the area of Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in Dedza.
According to Manda, the victim went to her friend’s house and when she came back she realized that she didn’t have matches at home to start fire with.
She then went to her neighbour’s house to borrow some matches but whilst there, her husband came and called her for a talk.
As they both entered in their house, the husband withdrew a sharp knife and stabbed his wife on the neck.
She was taken to Dedza District Hospital where she is currently admitted at.
The husband’s reason of stabbing his wife is not yet known as police are on the hunt for him.
The suspect hails from Chinkombero village in the area of Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in the district.
