A 26-year-old Indian man has been arrested for slitting off his four year old daughter’s throat as a sacrifice to God during the Ramadan season.
The culprit is identified as Nawab Ali Qureshi who reportedly admitted to the murder of his daughter, Rizwana on Friday.
Upon being asked by the police, Qureshi said he was possessed by a devil and “I had to offer my most prized possession to Allah.”
Police added that on Thursday afternoon, he took the four-year-old Rizwana to the market, bought her lots of goodies, and told her he loved her very much. “At night, while the family slept on the terrace, he took Rizwana to a room on the ground floor, recited holy verses & slit her throat. Then he went back to sleep,”
Times of India reports that he earlier blamed Rizwana’s death on a family cat but later confessed to the crime on Friday, June 8, 2018.
