Man found dead at graveyard

A 34 year old man has been found dead at Gologota graveyard in Lilongwe in Area 23 within Traditional Authority Tsabango area, the deceased was identified as Amos Chiwaya from area 23.

The dead body was found on the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The case was reported by her sister, Merunisa Chiwaya that on June 1, 2018 her brother was missing.

Lilongwe Police Spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula Thursday said the facts are that the victim (deceased) went missing on June 1, around 04:00 hours and the matter was reported to area 23 police.

“On June 5, 2018 the dead body was found by workers from City Assembly when they wanted to clear some bushes within the grave yard.

Matter was reported to area 23 police where the reporter was called for identification,” he pointed out Dandaula explained that, “Scene of crime visited and deceased was identified by the reporter.

The body looked burnt and lower part was eaten by wild animals.”

Postmortem conducted at the scene by senior clinician who revealed cause of death being due to hypoxia.

Burial has been ordered, the deceased hails from Kanyindundire village Traditional Authority (TA) Mavwere in Mchinji district.
