DPP youth cadets beat up MP Allan Ngumuya

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South Allan Ngumuya has been injured after being beaten by suspected DPP cadets during an independence celebration parade this morning in Blantyre.

Ngumuya is one of the members of Chilima Movement, a grouping that is advocating the candidature of the country’s vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima in the forthcoming 2019 tripartite election.

Blantyre City Council (BCC) celebrated 54 years of Independence with a Military Parade mounted by 1Malawi Rifles supported by Malawi Prison Services Brass Band.

The celebration was graced by Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also newly elected Vice President for DPP in the South.
