Lucius confirms releasing a song praising Chilima

Veteran musician cum-politician Lucius Banda has confirmed releasing a song praising the State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who recently dumped the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) due to leadership squabbles.

Banda’s song comes barely two days before the launch of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) headed by Chilima.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ radio) on Thursday Banda confirms owning the song, saying the song carries powerful message.

“I like it, it is a very good song, it has a very strong message,” said Banda who is also Member of Parliament for Balaka North Constituency.

When asked as to whether he is still member of the United Democratic Front (UDF) following rumours that he is set to join Chilima Movement Banda said: “I am still a devoted member of UDF.”

Meanwhile Banda has pulled out of the Presidential race in UDF.
