Chilima to attend Umhlangano Cultural Ceremony in Ntcheu, UTM supporters asked not to put on party regalia

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Members have been asked not to put on party regalia at the Umhlangano Maseko Ngoni cultural ceremony scheduled for this coming Saturday in Ntcheu district, faceofmalawi can reveal.

This has been disclosed in a press statement signed by UTM’s Publicity Secretary Joseph Chidanti Malunga made available to FOM’s reporter.

“The President of the united transformation movement , Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima, is calling upon all UTM faithfuls to adhere to the instruction from the administrators of the Umhlangano Maseko Ngoni cultural ceremony by not putting on our Party regalia or symbol.

“The said Ngoni cultural heritage ceremony will be held in Nkolimbo Village, Traditional Authority Kwataine in Ntcheu district on Saturday, 1st September 2018,” reads in part the statement.

He added: “The President will patronise the event along with other Party dignatories. Through this note, we ask as many as would make it, to accompany the President to this auspicious traditional occasion.”

Meanwhile it is unlikely if President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will attend the function since he is not in the country.
