Parked Vehicle Burnt to Ashes by Accidental Fire in BT

A BMW motor vehicle Registration number KK4367 saloon white in colour accidentally caught fire on Sunday night while parked within the fence in Michiru residential area, Blantyre.

According to Blantyre Police station public relations officer, the owner of the vehicle is identified as Mr James Kalaka, 47 of Kapenga Village traditional authority Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota who works with Naming’omba Tea Estate.

“At the time of the incident, the owner was fast asleep. Neighbours saw the fire, woke the owner up and informed Blantyre Fire Brigade,”said Nkhwazi.

The fire brigade got to the scene but failed to put off the fierce fire and the vehicle got burnt to ashes.

No injury to people was however recorded.

Meanwhile Police at Chilomoni in Blantyre have instituted investigations to establish the cause of the fire.
