Lucius distances himself from a photo showing him in DPP regalia

Veteran musician Lucius Banda who is also Member of Parliament for Balaka North has distanced himself from a photo circulating on the social media showing him putting on Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regalia, saying the photo is doctored.

On Tuesday, the social media was awash with a photo showing Lucius Banda putting on DPP regalia attracting speculations that he has dumped the United Transformation Movement (UTM) and joined the ruling party under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

But reacting to the claims, Banda who recently dumped the United Democratic Front (UDF) distanced himself from the photo, saying the picture has been edited by his traitors.

“I would like to Categorically Disassociate myself from this. It is not my picture it has been Edited to suit the wishes of some one else. I respect Dpp, mcp, pp,udf, and all other parties in Malawi. But l am a very proud member of UTM…

“To all my friends and relatives some in hospital beds for bp…lol (after seeing this Ugly picture) rest assured I am still sane,” wrote Banda.

Meanwhile it is not known as to who edited the picture.
