MCP Vice President Sidik Mia urges Malawians to go and register

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President for the South Muhammad Sidik Mia has urged Malawians to go and register in the ongoing registration exercise being carried out by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).

Mia made the call on Sunday during a rally held in Nsanje Central Constituency is currently manned by Hon. Francis Kasaira of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

“This is our opportunity to usher into power the MCP with leadership of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who will develop the districts in the lower Shire,” said Mia.

He said once voted into power, the MCP will bring modern irrigation technologies in the district to ensure food security.

“We will also make sure that farmers sell their produce at good prices to empower them economically,” he said.

Mia added that they will make Nsanje Inland Port and Ntayamoyo Bridge their priority since they are the only cheap mode of transport.

The Lower shire giant expressed hopped tha MCP will carry the day in Nsanje Central constituency.

He added: “Nsanje Central Constituency is currently manned by Hon. Francis Kasaira who got his ticket to Parliament in 2014 with only 5, 402 votes. However, if the overwhelming support we receive in this constituency is anything to go by, then I have no doubt whatsoever that our energetic, hardworking, innovative and youthful MCP shadow Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Mandivana, will grab this seat in 2019.”
