Fatal road accident involving motor vehicle registration no MN 912, Toyota hilux ,driven by Mr George Nthengwe age 60 years,village of Maludza T/A Chindi D Mzimba, occupation auditor, Central internal Secretariat, p/ bag 320, Lilongwe and motor vehicle registration registration no LL 4630 Toyota passo driven by Mr Chiyambi, age 35 years, village of Likumbu, T/A Likoswe, Chiradzulu,box 45, Namitete (now deceased) Mrs Dorica Banda adult, village Chafukira, T/A khombedza, D Salima, passenger of second motor vehicle.
Occurred on 2nd September, 2018 at sole village along Salima – Lilongwe road at about 12:10 hours.
Facts are that motor vehicle registration no MN 912, Toyota hilux, was coming from Salima going towards Lilongwe direction with no passenger on board.
On arrival at sole village, in process of negotiating bend and slopes corroded head on with motor vehicle registration no LL 4630 Toyota passo driven by late Chiyambi Mkwamba, who was coming from Lilongwe direction with eight passengers on board as the driver of first motor vehicle registration no MN 912, Toyota hilux encroached to the offside due to impact motor vehicle registration no LL 4630 Toyota passo, rested on a tree on the near side,this resulted to instant death of the two.
Mr George Nthengwe, driver of MN 912, Toyota hilux, has been treated at chezi rehabilitation centre as out patient. Dead body of late Dorica Banda is lying at KCH for postmortem and that of late Chiyambi mikwamba has been referred to Dowa district hospital for postmortem examination.
Damages to motor vehicle: MN 912,extensively damaged on front,windscreen, driver’ s door, front offside tyre damaged .
LL4630 Toyota passo: extensively damaged on front part, both airbag’s damaged, wind screen extensively damaged and its roof deformed.
