By Robert Kumwenda

Opposition Umodzi Party says it is ready to make a coalition with any political party whose manifesto and policies is similar to their party.

Professor John Chisi president for the party said they are willing to form a coalition with some of the major political parties in the country.

“To us the door is open but they need to approach us not us knocking on their doors to make a coalition,” he said.

The UP leader said much as they willing to make a coalition with other major political parties, he however said they are not willing to make a coalition with opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP)

The party is also yet to hold its convention at Motel Paradise by the end of this month according to Sadana Bakili who is the Deputy Publicity Secretary for the party.

She said they have estimated a budget of not less than twenty million where they will launch the party’s manifesto.

“There will be Constitution amendment hearing a report from the treasure general and secretary general respectively as well as choosing of new leaders that will lead the party ahead of 2019 polls,” she said..
