ZBS football commentator Mike Bango wins MCP primaries in Kasungu North

Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) football commentator Mike Bango has emerged victorious after defeating three other contestants during Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Primary election in Kasungu North constituency.

Bango got 1083 votes while his strong contender, Godfrey Jere got 290 votes. Another aspirant got three votes while Khwetchani Khoma got 29 votes.

The development means Bango will represent Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in Kasungu North Constituency in the forthcoming 2019 polls.

Elsewhere, former Minister of Finance Ken Kandodo Banda was declared winner in Kasungu Central after going unopposed in the primaries.

MCP is conducting primaries across the country to identify candidates to represent the party in the forthcoming 2019 polls.
