As the annual shopping madness day close-in, South African retailer Shoprite (Walmart) has announced a 50 percent price cut on all its commodities only for Friday, 23rd November 2018.
Shoprite has footprints in other African countries and stands to enjoy the cut. Other shops have also followed suit but differs on percentage.
Meanwhile, commentators have expressed concern that the Christmas festivity is slowly shifting away from December to November. This follows the hype towards Black Friday.
It is a day of the year, when prices in most shops go crazy.
