Lucius Banda elected as UTM Campaign Director

Member of Parliament for Balaka North Lucius Banda has been elected as Campaign Director for the newly registered United Transformation Movement (UTM) at the just end party convention.

UTM held its convention on Monday at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) to elect legitimate NEC members ahead of the forthcoming 2019 polls and all positions were up for grabs.

Banda who recently dumped the United Democratic Front (UDF) contested for the post of Campaign Director together with George Saonda who also dumped the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

But Saonda pulled out of the contests at the 11th hour, giving Banda a chance to go unopposed at the convention.

“Thank you so much UTM for entrusting the position of Campaign director into my hands. Be assured of my whole hearted commitment to the mission ahead. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this History in the making. Love you all. God bless Our leader SKC God bless Malawi,” wrote Banda on his official facebook page after being declared winner.
