Albino child abducted in Karonga by unknown thugs

Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that unknown thugs have abducted a one year six month old albino child in Karonga.

The incident happened on Monday night when his mother went out of the house where he slept to visit the toilet.

Association of People with Albinism Overstone Kondowe confirmed receiving in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by Faceofmalawi reporter.

“A report has been received from Mr Tengamowa induna for TA Wasambo in Chilumba that a 1 yr 6months daughter with abnism, Unice Nkhonjera missed in the house at around 0400 hrs this morning, where she slept with her mother, Loness Nkhonjera, aged 28yrs, of V. Malongo, TA Wasambo, D. Karonga, strongly believed to have been stolen by unknown criminals.

“We are on the ground to conduct initial investigations. We shall give you updates on any developments,” said Kondowe in the statement.

The development comes barely a weeks after the brutal murder of an Albino man in Nkhata-Bay identified as Yasin Phiri.

Police have so far arrested seven people in connection with the brutal murder of Phiri.
