IG hailed for bringing sanity in Neno

By Robert Kumwenda

The Inspector General of Police Rodney Jose has been commended for sending police officers that chased away the people who closed the District Commissioner’s (DC) office in Neno.

Stranger Moffat George Chekucheku and some of his followers closed the DC’S office because he wanted to be installed as T/A Chekucheku.

Former T/A Chekucheku Francis Magombo said much as it was their constitutional right but they also violated other people’s rights for denying them services they could access when the offices were closed.

“For this reason, the IG of police helped in calming down the situation and restored order in our area in Neno district,” he said.

Magombo therefore said, their deep heart thanks goes to the police especially the IG for adhering to their call and responding accordingly.

He said the Chekucheku family thansks the entire police service for their help.
