LUSAKA, On 10th January, 2019 – Police in Lusaka launched a manhunt for three criminals who attacked a Protective Unit Police officer and his family and killed the wife of the officer identified as Joy Mpandu Simwamba aged 31 and injured the husband who is a Police officer identified as Sergeant Billy Simwamba aged 39 and his brother Brian Simwamba.
This happened in the early hours of 10th January, 2019 at about 02 00 hours in Lusaka’s Makeni Villa when three criminals armed with iron bars attacked the officer at his home demanding for a firearm.
The wife of the officer who was hit at the back of the head with an iron bar sustained a deep cut and died. The body is at UTH awaiting postmortem while the Police Officer and his brother sustained multiple injuries and are admitted to University Teaching Hospital.
Investigations have been instituted in the matter and a manhunt for the criminals has been launched.
