Up and coming urban musician Mesho whose full name is Anderson Alfred Chipwaila aged 29 of Binali Village in T/A Nkanda, Mulanje has been arrested at Mathambi in the district.
The musician caught controversy with his latest song titled ‘Mizikiti ichoke kuti Nyama ya nkhumba idibwe’ in which he calls for the demolition of mosques and allow everyone to eat pork. In the song, Mesho also asks Muslims to go to Makkah to practice their religion.
Muslims across the country and abroad have expressed anger at the musician for inciting violence.
