South Africa journalist deported in Malawi

The Malawi Police Service and Immigration department on Monday deported a South African journalist Ntombizodwa Patience Makhoba.

Makhoba, City Press journalist in South Africa was in the country to carry out an investigative story for a certain Malawian entrepreneur currently based in South Africa.

The reporter is said to have been detained just after landing at Chileka International Airport (CIA) and was later deported.

The immigration department failed to explain as to why the reporter was deported.

But inside sources said the reporter was not cleared by the Ministry of information and Communications Technology to carry out such investigations.

Meanwhile Minister of Information Henry Mussa is yet to comment on the matter.
