Two Zambian families have made headlines for hosting a wedding of their children aged 17 and 16.

The children Mike Sibweni aged 17 and his lover Ruth Mwango aged 16 recently got married in advance following the agreement of their families.

According to reports, the two teenagers went awol for four months staying together without anyone’s permission. They ran away from home prompting to settle down as husband and wife until they were traced and brought back by family members.

Reports state this wasn’t the first time such scenario between Mike and Ruth had happened, it is believed they are becoming inseparable and claim they love each other so much, at some point in 2018 they both wanted to commit suicide after elders tried to stop their relationship.

They have passed through police discipline, parental discipline and counseling a number of times but they seem not to let go.

With fear and discomfort concerning the two inseparable love birds, both families decided they marry them off in advance to avoid bad consequences and still support their marriage and school proceedings

Mike will continue with his studies and be part of his father’s business venture; he is a grade 11 Pupil. While Ruth Grade 8 will be attending night classes and a business circle at home.
