Govt Says Financially Stable to Pay Promoted Civil servants

Government said it has the financial muscle to support payment of salaries for its recently promoted civil servants.

Within a period of a month, government has effected two major promotions in Malawi Police Service (MPS) and education sector.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank has been recommending Malawi government to control its wage bill.

Over 20, 000 teachers were promoted earlier, just over the weekend at least 7, 000 police officers have also been promoted. m�����b�
