Zambian man cuts off penis in suicide attempt

A Zambian man from Kabwe’s Makandanyama compound attempted to commit suicide by slicing off his penis with a sharp knife following a marital dispute.

Zambia Central Province Commissioner of Police Chola Katanga confirmed the incident to KNC News in Kabwe and identified the man as Lambart Mubanga.

Mr. Katanga said Mubanga had allegedly assaulted his wife using an iron pipe and she sustained a deep cut on the head and above the forehead.

It is further alleged that out of fear of being arrested for assault, Mubanga, amputated his penis and stabbed himself on the neck in his attempt to commit suicide.

According to local sources, the man was in unconscious state at Kabwe General Hospital.
