Chisi congratulates APM for winning the presidency

By Robert Kumwenda

Umodzi Party(UP) President Professor John Chisi has become the first political leader to congratulate incumbent President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for winning the presidency.

On 21 May, 2019 Malawians went to the poll to exercise their democratic right by choosing leaders of their choice for the presidential, parliamentary and the local council.

He said all Malawians of good will should accept the results because people have spoken and in an election there shall be always one winner.

“We should all accept the results and support Mutharika because Malawians have given him a fresh mandate to rule this country for another five years,” he said.

The UP leader was also the first political leader who asked Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) to release the results before the issue was taken to court by the Main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

Chisi style of leadership need to be emulated by all Malawians who are patriotic because he has been the first person who has commented on several issues affecting the country.

He also said that if there are other issues will be solved later by the courts but what is needed now is for us to join hands and support the winner.
