Supporters celebrate Mwalwanda’s win in Karonga Central Constituency

Supporters of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) shadow MP for Karonga Central Constituency, Dr. Cornelius Mwalwanda, are celebrating his unofficial win.

This is despite not having the full results from the many Tally Centre, Chiwondo TDC.

The supporters were dancing along M1 road between Ngala and Lupembe.

Former Member of Parliament for Karonga Central Constituency Frank Tumpale Mwenefumbo has since conceded defeat and congratulated Mwalwanda’s win.

“I would like to congratulate Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda for his win , and I wish him well in all his endeavours as he serves us,” wrote Mwenefumbo on his official facebook page seen by faceofmalawi reporter.

Meanwhile Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Jane Ansah has urged supporters to wait for official results from the electoral body.
