Umodzi Party President Professor John Chisi concede defeat

Umodzi Party (UP) President Professor John Chisi has conceded defeat following unofficial results currently being announced in the Tuesday, May 21 tripartite election.

According to unofficial results from various part of the country seen by Faceofmalawi, Chisi is performing badly despite investing heavy in the campaign reading to the Tuesday’s general election.

Chisi is currently trailing on position six on Presidential race.

“Not well. It seems the masses are not ready for change. This is democracy and I am happy that I have participated. We should love our country. I wish whoever wins well as we try to move the country forward,” twitted Chisi.

Currently counting is underway in all polling centres across the country.

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) will release official results of the polls in eight days to come.
