Lazarus Chakwera orders president Mutharika to produce evidence on the on al-shabaab within 24 hours and will not respond to the State of the National address.

MCP leader further said that he has confidence in the judicially saying it is the only government institution that holds the key to the future of Malawi.

He commended the court for declaring the elections case continues and calls for peopleto continue patronizing the courts peacefully and avoid any acts of violence.

Chakwera further thanked people that took part in the national wide demonstrations on the 21st of June, however condemned acts of violence by some people where property was vandalized.

“I am ready to work with the law enforcers to investigate a few individuals who vandalized property during riots by the police and party supporters at the court”.

The MCP leader defended a move by MCP members of parliament to walk out of parliament during the state of national address by Presedent citing he is illegitimate leader.

Chakwera refuted allegations that MCP has been intimidating the judicially and that his party wanted to bomb the kamuzu stadium during Mthalika’s swearing in ceremony.

This comes after Mutharika, during his State of the Nation Address yesterday, alleged that some politicians wanted to recruit the insurgents to bomb Kamuzu Stadium when he was being sworn in.Chakwera has demanded that the President should produce evidence within 24 hours.

Full trial of the presidential election results case commences on Wednesday, June 26.

The Petition on elections by MCP/UTM against APM and MEC was declared valid and regular and can not be subjected to nullity yesterday by five judges.
