13 Malawians deported in Zimbabwe

A total of 13 Malawians have been deported from Zimbabwe for a lack of proper documentation and using unchartered routes.

Mwanza Border Spokesperson Pasqually Zulu confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying most of the deported are from Mangochi.

“The deportees are all from Mangochi where we have opened a passport issuing office, but they left the country on June 13th using unchartered routes between Balaka and Ntcheu districts,” said Zulu.

According to Zulu, the said Malawians were apprehended in Zimbabwe while in transit to South Africa and have been kept in police custody for over a month.

The department has since warned against travelling abroad with valid travel documents.
