Teen Tortured to Death over a Pair of Shoes

Four Zimbabwean men abducted a 16 year old boy and assaulted him with a switch for allegedly stealing a pair of shoes before tying his hands and legs over night leading to his death.

According to the police, the boy was first tied to a tree and was severely assaulted with a switch in an assault that occurred on 1 July.

“After the assault his legs and hands were tied with a rope and he was detained over night in hut. His condition deteriorated and he died the following morning,” said the police.

The four men are now on the run after realising that the boy had died from their assault.

“We are urging members of the public to desist from meting out instant justice on people and seek assistance from the police with a view to apply the due process of the law,” said the police.
