Elections Case update: AG to Finish Cross Examine Chilima Today

Attorney General (AG) Kalekeni Kaphale who is representing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) yesterday hinted that he may finish Cross examine the first petition of the on going election case United Transformation (UTM) president Saulos Chilima today.

Kaphale has been cross-examining the UTM leader since Thursday last week.

On Tuesday, kaphale centred much on questioning Chilima on the use of duplicate results sheets when recording results during the May 21 elections.

During his questioning the AG faced a number of objections from Bright Theu a lawyer representing Chilima of which in all cases the court ruled out in Kaphale’s favor.

Meaniwhile the case resumed 9:am this morning.
