Organizers of Anti-Ansah demonstrations Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) and the Malawi Police Service (MPS) have expressed satisfaction with how citizens observed order on Wednesday after the Supreme Court of Appeal stopped the demonstrations.
Following an injunction by Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) restraining HRDC from hold demonstration in airports and boarders across the country, the coalition rescheduled days for demonstrations and set August 28-30 as the days for the protests.
When the plans were underway, the court set a moratorium of 14 days to pave way for discussions between the office of the Attorney General and the coalition.
