Unknown thugs invade Minister of Information’s office in Lilongwe

Unknown people broke into offices of Minister of Information, Civic Education and Communication Technology in City Center Lilongwe and vandalized some property.

Minister of Information, Mark Botoman confirmed of the incident but could not say when exactly the break-in happened.

Botomani said that he was away and has just arrived today. He added that the police are yet to visit the offices and file a report.

According to information at hand, government has accused Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) which organized the Tuesday demonstrations of being behind the invasion of the Ministers office.

But the break-in has attracted mixed reactions on the social media with many accusing the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of staging the burglary.

Many people who took the issue to social media based their arguments on the portrait of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika which was left intact.

Meanwhile Malawians continue to comment on the matter.
