By Robert Kumwenda and Orchestra Kamanga

First Steps Nursery and An-Noor Academy has this coming Sunday organized a fun fair  at Mpingwe Sports Club to give chance to business of selling their products .

Malikah Haider, Head Teacher for the school said the Fun Fair is a community event for the whole family and lovely outing for people of all ages to play games, raffle draws where they can win different prizes, buy products that will be sold during the event and interact with each other.

She said they organized such kind of an event annually as part of raising funds to cater for the children which they sponsor saying that in other words it is the money that goes back to the school.

“The event is for the sponsors to help those that are working because they need our assistance as the money which we raise goes back to the children whom some of them are their children.

One of the organizers for the event who is also a teacher at the school, Suhaila Omar Mohammed said they are anticipating to have a great turn up of people as it has been the tradition in the past. Suhaila said that tickets are up for sale now and there will also be amazing gifts for people.

“This is a great event where families get together and interact, play games and we are the best when it comes to things of this nature and the school has highly experienced teachers,” She said.

Mohammed said some business people also come to advertise during the event saying that people must also know that the school works with special needs teachers who have hearing problem saying their first priority is for the kids because they teach them something.

She said the school has children from all religions like Hindus, Muslims and Christians and that the aim is to provide high standards of education at affordable prizes.

She further said that it is a community school owned by Limbe Muslim Jamaat (LMJ) which initially was a nursery school and An-Noor Academy became last year.

The school is located close to Madressa Noorul Islam, Limbe along Zomba road passing through Maselema to Blantyre which makes it easier accessible for both Limbe and Blantyre residents.
