A senior patient who was admitted at Ntchisi district Hospital has committed suicide after suffering headache in the early hours of Sunday September 22 for reasons that are not yet known.
The woman was identified as Mosano Chibwana from Dowa district. Ntchisi police officer sub inspector Richard Kaponda has said they are investigating the matter.
“Elder sister to the deceased told us that her sister was suffering from headache and was admitted at the hospital on Friday last week. On Sunday morning hours the guardian discovered that the deceased was missing. After searching her she was found outside behind the female ward hanging,” said Kaponda.
The scene was visited by the police officers and medical officers. Postmortem was conducted and it was revealed that no foul play was played the death was due to suffocation.
The police are still investigating the matter.
The deceased came from Khangira village in the Tradtionala area of Chakhadza in Dowa district.
