Bushiri to speak on Malawi’s political squabbles

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlighten Christian Gathering (ECG) church is today scheduled to comment in the ongoing political tension concerning the outcome of the May 21 tripartite election which saw President Peter Mutharika being declared winner.

Since the outcome of the May 21 polls, the country has experienced series of demonstrations organized by Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) aimed at forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah.

The demonstrations have led to the death of two people in Blantyre and in Karonga following running battles between the police and the protesters.

Due to this development, Buashiri has been left with no option but to comment on the ongoing political tension.

According to the statement seen by faceofmalawi reporter, Bushiri’s briefing will start from 2pm today and will be live on Times Television and Rainbow Television.
