MCP Witness Shuns Election Case Hearing

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) fourth witness Anthony Bendulo failed to show up in court the time he was called.

Bendulo was expected to be paraded by MCP lawyers in the on-going presidential election case in Lilongwe where the Constitutional Court is hearing the case.

According to MCP lawyer Mordecai Msiska, Bendulo was aware of the session.

MCP president Lazarus Chakwera and his counterpart United Transformation Movement (UTM) Leader Saulos Chilima are seeking nullification of the presidential results in court.

Malawi Election Commission (MEC) declared president Peter Mutharika winner of the disputed election which are registered to have anomalies according to the challengers which include the use of correction fluid called Tipp-Ex.
