Parliament passes MK1.7 trillion national budget

The National Assembly has finally approved the 2019/2020 national budget pegged at Mk1.7 trillion, Faceofmalawi can reveal.

Parliament postpone debate of the national budget in May this year due to the disputed Presidential polls and the delay by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to announce Cabinet after being declared winner by the Malawi Electoral Commission(MEC).

In June this year, Parliament passed a provision budget while awaiting the just passed 2019/2020 national budget.

According to information at hand, the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MoEST) has gotten a lion’s share.
