US Man in Court for Undressing Zambian Colleague

In Zambia, a 35-year-old man believed to be an American citizen has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

In a video that has now been widely shared on social media, a man who has now come to be identified as Augustine Nkole is seen being stripped naked by about three other men.

At some point, Nkole receives a violent slap to the face sending him crashing to the ground with legs in the air, leaving his manhood fully exposed to the world.

A man with an American accent can be heard accusing the distressed and staggering Nkole of stealing money.

It has turned out that a man called Rahsaan Ahmed Smith was part of the trio in the video.

Smith appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The technician of Olympia Park in Lusaka denied the charges before Lusaka Magistrate Nthandose Chabala.

It is alleged that on October 6, 2019, Rahsaan assaulted Augustine Nkhole occasioning him actual bodily harm.

Magistrate Chabala has since granted Rashaan a K5,000 cash bail on condition that he provides two working seureties from two reputable organizations bound at a sum of K15,000 each to be paid in their own recognizance.

Magistrate Chabala also ordered that the seureties should provide three latest payslips and receipts of utility bills as proof of residence. She also ruled that the accused should surrender his passport to the clerk of court.

This was after his lawyer Osborne Ngoma made an application for bail on grounds that the offense was bailable and that Rahsaan was of fixed abode.

The matter comes up on October 28 for commencement of trial.
