Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Nkhata Bay Central Constituency, Symon Vuwa Kaunda is seeking over K40 million from former People’s Party MP for the area Ralph Mhone.
The money is for the payment of costs incurred in a case which Mhone is challenging results of the parliamentary election in which Kaunda was declared winner.
Kaunda’s demands come after the High Court in Mzuzu dismissed Mhone’s case.
Mhone has however appealed the case.
Meanwhile lawyer representing Symon Vuwa Leonard Mbulo says payment of the costs has nothing to do with the appeal.
